Monday 6:00 PM Blessed Sacrament Church
Friday 11:30 AM Holy Trinity Church
The Stations of the Cross are representations of the path Jesus bore on His way to the crucifixion. They involve Jesus enduring suffering, insults, moments of support, and the intense sacrifice that Christians believe Jesus undertook for human salvation.
The object of the Stations is to help the faithful make a pilgrimage (in spirit) to the primary scenes of Christ's sufferings and death. They are usually performed during Lent, especially on Good Friday, and are about remembering Christ’s suffering for our sake.
From Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday, Holy Week is the most significant week of our Catholic faith and it marks the final stretch before Easter Sunday. During this sacred week, Catholics pray and reflect on the journey of Jesus’ suffering, sacrifice, and victory over death. Palm Sunday is the day that commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. Holy Thursday celebrates the Last Supper and the institution of the Eucharist while Good Friday reflects on Jesus’ death by crucifixion. Throughout this week, Catholics reflect on the sheer intensity of Jesus' Passion, contemplate His boundless love and mercy, and look forward to the joyous hope of His Resurrection. Being present and intentional, Holy Week can serve as a spiritual pilgrimage that deepens our faith.
