“First Communion is, above all, a celebration. We celebrate Jesus, who wants to remain always by our side. He will always be with us.” - Pope Francis
Holy Communion, or receiving the Eucharist is the most important Sacrament of Catholic life. Each Sunday we gather together at Mass to receive and to be nourished by this life-giving gift of Jesus' own body and blood. When we leave Mass, we take this loving gift with us into the world, spreading the love of God and the good news of Jesus to all those around us
Students.
Ages 7-8.
First Holy Communion is a sacred religious ceremony performed in the Catholic Church typically when a child reaches the age of 7-8 years old. It is the first time that they accept the bread and wine known as the Eucharist. The second of the three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism and Confirmation are the other two), it completes an individual's membership to the Catholic Community and celebrates the real presence of Christ in the bread, wine, and gathered community.
